What Did People Do Before Air Conditioning Was Invented?
A little bit of trivia on how people survived without Air Conditioning before.

Have you ever looked at that white box on the wall that makes a Gold Coast Hot day bearable and thought to yourself, “what did people do before that was Invented?”
Well, it’s a good question and we thought we might answer it with a little bit of trivia. One of the tricks of the trade was to get a little innovative. Have you ever put a wet towel in the freezer and then throw it over a fan then let the water blow into your face? Or do remember those evaporative type coolers? And instead of just adding water you throw in a whole bunch of ice blocks? Have you read stories about people placing swimsuits in a freezer and then putting them on? Might be ok that one until they start to thaw out then it would be uncomfortable.
But what about when there was no fans or coolers?
Well if you notice a lot of houses on the Gold Coast have Verandahs, that was the place to be on those super-hot days and into the nights, as they gave a little bit of comfort from the sun but were super nice if a breeze of any sort was blowing through, so people spent a lot more time outside the house. An afternoon nap was also a popular thing, it may have had zero effect on the heat, but it at least gave you a break from just sitting around in it.
But thankfully in the late 1930’s Air Conditioning started to appear in houses and in 2018?
We have it everywhere, so even if you didn’t have air con at home
you could go do some Window Shopping or sit back enjoy a nice cold one at the local. In the case of Climate Control
